Constantine Is Awesome

If you've seen Muppets Most Wanted, you'll probably recognize Constantine, the world's most dangerous frog and a dead ringer for Kermit. It's been a year since Muppets Most Wanted came out, and to this day, I still think that Constantine is really awesome. Okay, I know what you're thinking. Constantine's the bad guy. How can I like him? The answer is a mysterious secret.

The Muppets Plush Tournament

Ladies and gentlemen, superheroes and Muppenators, I proudly announce the 2015 Muppet Plush Tournament! Here's how it works;

First I choose eight different Muppet plushes from my collection. Then they become the Excellent Eight. You will get to vote and save six Muppets. They will become the Super Six, which is made of the six Muppets with the highest votes. The two who have the least votes will be eliminated. After the Super Six comes the Fabulous Four, then the championship, the Terrific Two. That's when we decide the champion.

Upcoming Data: The Muppets

Have you been waiting for the Muppets to get back on TV? Well, you're in luck. The Muppets will be coming back to television on September 22nd in a brand new reality show on ABC called "the muppets." See? Plain & simple. We also know that some Muppets you didn't expect are back! Of course we've got Kermit, Fozzie, Piggy, Gonzo, and Pepe, but The Magnifecent Muppenators' all-time favorite Muppet is back! That's right, Walter's back! Also favorites like Uncle Deadly and Angel Marie will be here as well! The Muppets have been at the San Diego Comic Con too! 

Now, this leaves the question if Constantine's back.

Muppeteer Adventures, Part 3

Hi guys! Sorry I haven't wrote in lately, I was too busy having summer fun. Anyway, today I'd like to show you my interview with Noel MacNeal at Beyond The Sock.

Me: How did the Show Me Show begin?

Noel: Well, it was a show for kids with autism and it was about to get on air but it was beat by Jack's Big Music Show.

Me: I know that you play Bear in Bear In The Big Blue House. What's it like inside Bear?

Noel: Very hot.

Me: How did you get involved with Jim Henson & The Muppets?

Noel: Well, I was in a puppeteering class and the teacher was a guy called Kermit Love, and he built Big Bird and Snuffy on Sesame Street. He was looking for an assistant and he asked me. Then I became the wrangler for Kermit and I performed background characters.

Me: Who are your favorite Muppets?

Noel: Well, it was Big Bird, Snuffy, and Oscar. It was Dr. Teeth, and Fozzie and Gonzo.

Muppeteer Adventures, Part 2

Welcome back to my Muppeteer Adventures blog post series.  Today, I want to share my interview with Peter Linz.  This interview took place at the Beyond the Sock workshop finale on May 23rd.  Peter was really funny and did you know that he has twin daughters? I'm a twin, too (in case you didn't already know that)!

So, here's the summarized interview ...

Ruby: How did you get involved with Jim Henson?
Peter: I watched Sesame Street when I was little and I always wanted to work for him.
{And then, we started talking about Sesame Street and how we both grew up with it and then I went on the next question.}

Ruby: How did the creation of Walter begin?
Peter: Actually, Walter was the inspiration of Jason Segel.  Jason wrote The Muppets movie, along with Nick Stoller. Jason Segel's first puppet's name was Walter.

Ruby: What's it like being a Muppeteer?
Peter: It is a dream come true.  I wanted to be a Muppeteer since I was 10 years old.
{And then we talked about how I want to be a Muppeteer, too, and Peter said that there aren't very many girl Muppeteers and that I could maybe come up with a character of my own!}

Ruby: Which Muppets are your favorites?
Peter: Well, growing up with Sesame Street, I always loved Cookie Monster.  And on the Muppet Show, I loved Animal and Crazy Harry.

Muppeteer Adventures, part 1

Yesterday I went to the University of North Texas in Denton for the final performance of the Beyond the Sock puppet workshop and guess who was there?

Peter Linz & Noel MacNeal! 

Beyond the Sock is a five day puppet workshop. This is the third year for the workshop. This year, the theme is monkey puppets. All the participants made their own monkey puppet! Then, they learned to puppeteer on camera. I got to attend the final workshop performance. I'll tell you more about that later. Peter Linz and Noel MacNeal and some other people were the teachers. 

Peter and Noel were the emcees. They used lots of different puppets in between the acts. It was really awesome to see them perform!

I got to interview Peter and Noel & take some pictures with them. Here's just a few photos showing what happened last night...
